About Us

A series of Godly events...

Spiritual Springs Farm was a vision that came to us through a series of Godly events that were presented to our family. The name is a nod to several natural springs on the property in combination with the spiritual cleansing and closeness to God we feel the land provides us.

The circumstances through which we came across the land and were able to purchase it in the spring of 2019 was so fortuitous, yet we didn’t think much about it. We originally planned to utilize it strictly for recreational use with our two boys.

Then in late summer of 2021 we attended a “you pick your berries farm”. There we picked elderberries and brought them home. We put the elderberries in the freezer until a random Saturday in the fall. We wanted to make more room for meat in the freezer, so my wife processed the berries and made a delicious, immune boosting syrup.

During the spread of covid our family took elderberry syrups as precautionary steps to help stave it off. My wife’s creation of her own delicious syrup was an instant hit with friends and family. This reaction drove us to dive deeper into the elderberry world.

We looked at places to get elderberries and ran across Boulder Berry Farms that the Clark family ran. They we gracious and opened their farm to us to explore and learn about the elderberry growing process.

At that time, we realized that our recreational land was a perfect fit to grow elderberries. We began to further educate ourselves on the elderberry market, elderberry varieties and what it would take to start such an endeavor.

With all the cogs in the machine clicking into place at every turn, we knew this plan for us was put in place by God for a reason. In March of 2022, we jumped in with both feet and ordered our first 1500 Organic cuttings of Bob Gordon and Ranch varieties. We worked tirelessly prepping the first 2 acres of our land and planting the cuttings!

Today we have 2 successful lots and have a goal to expand 6 lots with 5000 plants by 2024, with the aim of becoming the largest organic elderberry farm in Ohio.
